BRJ Fireworks will be offering the PGI Display Operator Certification Course on March 29, 2025 at the Hawthorne Park Community Center in Porter Indiana. The address is 500 Ackerman Dr. Porter, IN 46304. Registration will start at 8:00am CST and class will begin at 9:00am CST and end at 5:00pm CST.
The PGI Display Operator Certification (DOC) Course, or PGI Course, is designed to meet the need for both a “Basic” course in Fireworks Display Safety and as the first step in an optional Certification Process, which when completed, results in the successful trainee becoming a PGI Certified Display Operator. One of the requirements to become a PGI Certified Display Operator is to participate in the live-fire portion of the PGI Display Operator Course. Students should be prepared by bringing to class their own Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Per NFPA 1123 – 2010, this includes: Head protection, eye protection, hearing protection, foot protection (closed-toe shoes) and cotton, wool, or similar flame-resistant, long-sleeved, long-legged clothing.
The class is $100 per person, which includes textbook, lunch and snacks. (3% fee if paying with card or PayPal). If it’s after March 17th, please call and we can see what is available. You can pay cash (no checks) the day of the event, but make sure to let us know you are coming so we have you on the registration form.
We will be bringing a limited amount of PPE for $30. If you would like it included with the course, just let us know and we will add it on. (hard hat, gloves, ear plugs, safety glasses)
We will also have some firework products available for sale there.
